Social Entrepreneurship Networking Party

(Co-hosted by the Schwab Foundation and the Work Together Foundation)

 

 

The Work Together Foundation and the Schwab Foundation co-hosted an introduction to Korean social entrepreneurship and an opportunity to network with global social entrepreneurs at the Haja Center in Yeongdeungpo-gu on June 17th from 19:00 for two and a half hours. The foundation invited distinguished global social entrepreneurs to attend the World Economic Forum on East Asia, along with Korean social entrepreneurs and leaders.  The Schwab Foundation was founded by Klaus Schwab, the founder of World Economic Forum, to support social entrepreneurs.

 

Thirty-six people attended, including Korean social enterprise leaders and social entrepreneurs from India, Singapore, Cambodia, the Philippines, Thailand, Japan and other countries. The participants walked around the Haja Center and watched a performance by Noridan. After that, they watched a short movie about social entrepreneurship in Korea shown by the Work Together Foundation and discussed the importance of networking with social entrepreneur in Asia. The entrepreneurs and related professionals also had networking time while eating dinner catered by the social enterprise, Organization Yori.

 

 


 


 

 

The World Economic Forum (WEF) on East Asia 2009 was held at the Grand Hyatt Hotel from June 18th to June 19th with the theme of ‘Implications of the Global Economic Crisis for East Asia.’ WEF is a Geneva-based non-profit foundation best known for its annual meeting in Davos, Switzerland which brings together top business leaders, international political leaders, selected intellectuals and journalists to discuss the most pressing issues facing the world, including health and the environment.
