‘The Lotus Hope Hair & Beauty Center’

WT held an opening ceremony for the Lotus Hope Hair & Beauty Center in Siem Reap, Cambodia on May 6, 2011. The center was created thanks to donations collected through SBS ‘Hope TV’ and the support of Rotary International District 3640. The center is going to provide beauty vocational training services to teenagers from poor households so as to create sustainable jobs and eventually create a system to overcome fundamental poverty.

‘The Lotus Hope Hair & Beauty Center’ is the first time WT has supported the establishment of an overseas social enterprise, where those from the low-income class can receive vocational training and get opportunities for employment or business start-up. Those who get benefits will donate part of their profits for the training of their juniors and perform voluntary beauty work for the local people, growing to become leading powers for local sustainable development.

Let’s see Siem Reap, Cambodia full of hope, broadcast on May 10, 2011 on Start! Morning Wide on SBS, a Korean TV broadcasting station.
