The Japanese NPO, “Cultural Learning Cooperation Network”
Visited Work Together Foundation
Let’s Solve Youth
On May 30th, the Japanese non-profit foundation, “Cultural Learning Cooperation Network” (www.parasute.jp) visited the Work Together Foundation (WTF) where very meaningful exchanges of ideas with the WTF and the Hope Network for the Next Generation (Hope Network) took place. This involved discussing a networking center for those in their 20’s at the conference room of the WTF.
This exchange program, taking the form of an informal discussion gathering, was arranged at the request of Cultural Learning Cooperation Network. It took place for a total of three hours, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., with a total of twenty participants involved: twelve from the Japanese NPO, four from the WTF, and four from the Hope Network.
The Cultural Learning Cooperation Network is mainly committed to youth independence support projects. Due to an increasing number of Hikikomoris (elusive loners) and NEETs (Not Employed, Education, and Training) in Japan, this NPO helps young people to take the next step towards standing on their own in society through a variety of programs.
The Youth Support Team of the WTF gave a presentation on the historically created characteristics of Korean social enterprises and their CSR cases. Further, the Hope Network introduced an example of their activities for youth independence support. These presentations were followed by a continuous flow of questions about unemployment policies, the support for social enterprises, and the youth problems in
After the three-hour discussion, the participants visited the office of the Hope Network on the 2ndfloor of the same building in order to study further, then had a warm networking dinner together.

Through this opportunity, the activists on the both sides were able to perform youth support projects, and under similar circumstances were able to learn about well-executed cases from each other. The Cultural Learning Cooperation Network and the Work Together Foundation promised to maintain a sustainable relationship with each other in the future.
